LONDON - Love Beady Eye's happy tunes. Now complete, with lyrics. If you listen with earphones, it's amazing. I love the crescendo in the sound.. and Liam "shits all over every other vocalist in rock".
Little reviews from music experts on magazines:
"That bare-boned, back-to-basics approach is definitely present in the druggy comeback song Flick Of The Finger, and it’s just as tangible in the follow-up single, Second Bite of the Apple. Here, Gallagher and company let their T Rex flag fly high, crafting a big drunken sing-along powered by scant guitars and concussive horns, mixing equal parts of Britpop wit and abandon and some glam-rock undertones. It’s the perfect song to mumble when you’re stumbling home with your best mate."
"A couple weeks ago I wrote complimentary things about Flick Of The Finger, the first track to be released from BE, the second album from Beady Eye (aka Oasis sans Noel Gallagher). Now we’ve got another new one, and man, I like this even more than the first. Dave Sitek produced BE, and there are definitely textural and instrumental similarities to TV On The Radio here (especially in the incredible horns that propel the track). It’s retro as hell, yeah, but Sitek treats that (essential) aspect of the band’s identity with a wink, and in doing so, makes it feel oddly contemporary. It sounds fantastic. Listen."
"New track Flick Of The Finger seemed to demonstrate a visceral new energy, backed by a euphoric, grandiose horn arrangement. The band delivered another surprise, making an appearance on Zane Lowe's Radio 1 show. Second Bite Of The Apple opens with rolling drums, a curiously playful stop-start rhythm. Building and building, it's catchy, singalong nature is matched to an arrangement which is as powerful as it is sparse."
Rising from the demise of Oasis, Beady Eye have taken the industry by storm with their sensational debut album Different Gear Still Speeding, but the quintet look set to offer something different in their forthcoming instalment BE and this is just the appetiser.
Gallagher and co streamed album opener Flick Of The Finger, but never opted to take the single to the charts despite the huge support by the likes of Zane Lowe, Nick Grimshaw and XFM.
This is a picturesque return, as their elegant tones, Madchester influences and Gallagher’s charismatic charm warps itself into the very foundations of the track that looks. In accordance to Gallagher, this is single that producer Dave Sitek (Foals, Nine Inch Nails, Yeah Yeah Yeahs) experimented with the most and genuinely illustrates the magic that is set in store for BE.
Song broadcast 5 times per day on Virgin Radio, best song of the week, also for Gigwise.

Beady Eye are primal. Beady Eye are packed with bravado. Beady Eye don't have a reverse gear.
Beady Eye are... playful?
Not a word often flung in Liam Gallagher's direction, but the group's new single has a seductive, coy edge.
Perhaps its that opening drum beat, cribbed from Ringo Starr's off-beat less-is-more dictum. Perhaps its those horns, leading the track to new level after new level.
Or maybe it's Liam himself, with the singer's finest vocal performance in some time intoning lyrics of young love, empowerment and progress.

Shake my tree where's the apple for me
Tickle my feet with the enemy (NME)
No point laughing if you don't know why
I phone my love just to hear her smile
The word is up if you're tough enough x2
Girl in the queue, got an eye on you
Think you're in and she's looking for sin?
Yes you're not wrong
She wants to know what's in your pocket
Singing that song, dig it all night long
The word is up if you're tough enough x3
The word is if you're tough enough
Come on! Show what you love now x4
