LONDON - Here's a video with Kubrick's 2001 Space Odyssey, the dawn of man (monkey man Liam :)
The great majority found it a great song, some criticism from the people about the absence of a refrain (but it's a different structure, and a sort of introduction to the album... as Liam said: with Dave Sitek, no rules), "feels like waiting for something but at the end we don't have it" (yes, the album, in June), the real crescendo is the words from lyric (personal) become epic (for all the people), "nothing happens" is funny, 'cause it's all a happening, sounds like the man not realising he's making history and when he will look back, everything changed.
The future gets written today.
"Liam’s vocals are back to their best and the track is blessed with production from Dave Sitek, well known for playing guitar with TV on the Radio. Add big horns and pounding drums to the mixture, and the result is a track likely to please Oasis fans too."
"rock‘n’roll but it’s fired out into space"
"We were watching Stanley Kubrick’s film 2001 in the studio. Just to get that mood. We are definitely experimenting. In five words, it’s ‘majestic’, ‘imperial’, ‘out there’ and, er, what was the other one? Oh yeah, ‘heavy’. It’s different to the first. It’s been heads down, none of that nonsense from the Nineties. We’ve got our shit together. It feels like a really special album. You know when you normally go through a door and go, ‘Er, I’m not really sure about that’. Well, we’ve fucking booted the door off the hinges.”
